We were lucky enough to be invited to Nowra NSW to capture Meagan & James’ wedding back in early November. When we got the enquiry, I pulled out Google Maps to check exactly where on earth Nowra was. It looked like it might be an alright place, so we said hell yeah!!
It was a beautiful occasion, and well worth the 8 hour drive. James and Meagan are not ones for the lime-light, so the perfect day for them consisted of very little formality, and lots of relaxing, eating and drinking – picnic style!
The wedding kicked off in effortless style, with a short, but heartfelt ceremony, that set the tone for the rest of the day, which included a picnic lunch and lounging around in the 30 degree spring weather drinking DIY cocktails and eating homemade sorbet. All the beautiful details were arranged by James’ sister and Mum, who added lots of personal touches to the beautiful Ol’ Meribee house & garden.
We finished the day off perfectly with one of our most favorite golden hour shoots ever. I can’t say I’ve ever shot in more beautiful light than what you’ll see at the end of this blog post, you’ll see what I mean.
We spent the 8 hour drive back to Melbourne, with our little dog Boo in the backseat, smiles on our faces, and wondering if we’ll ever get asked back to that beautiful part of the world to shoot another wedding.
I really do hope so.
